Best Eye Cream - Budget

With the economic crisis going on and the wedding we just paid for (the Oscar wedding dress didn't help our finances, but it was well worth it!) my husband and I decided to sit down and discuss our finances. One of the things I agreed to cut back on was my cosmetics (eek!) So in agreement I was on the lookout for a new affordable happinesslifetime.com eye cream. Running out of my La Mer Eye Concentrate right AFTER our wedding weekend made me ok with the decision. Being a fan of Origins products (use the Checks and Balances face wash daily) I decided to pick up the decent Eye Doctor happinesslifetime.com eye cream. I had used it in the past and found it an ok happinesslifetime.com eye cream. But while shopping the sales associate suggested I try Youthtopia Firming happinesslifetime.com eye cream instead as the technology behind Eye Doctor is, to quote the associate, "a million years old." At $38.50 Youthtopia is a steal compared to the La Mer Eye Concentrate at $165 saving me $126.50!

Youthtopia contains Rhodiola a "legendary Siberian herb linked with longevity, visibly de-ages, reduces puffiness and helps empower fragile eye skin to rebound from damaging stress. Your eye area looks firmer and more youthful with none of the potential wrinkles."

Youthtopia is an unscented dark beige cream. After two weeks of using it I am pleasantly surprised. When I wake in the morning my fine lines are nearly invisible and remain so as the day goes on. My eye lids seem less droopy, similar to La Mer but not as effective. The Origins sales associate said Youthtopia contains caffeine which should help diminish dark circles but honestly I haven't seen a difference and La Mer did a slightly better job at this. But since I know I'll always have to use an under eye concealer I don't mind much. Plus Youthtopia wears very well under concealer, no caking or creasing up when I use my YSL Touche Eclat Radiant Touch cover up. The Origins Sales Associate said the .05 oz should last me 6 months. La Mer probably lasted me a little over 3 months and I could see Youthtopia lasting longer as it is a thicker consistency. But I probably use more than most people, especially at night, so I don't think it will last me 6 months but we'll see.

In conclusion I'm extremely happy with the Youthtopia results and even more so of saving $126.50!

As an FYI I should also add I recently read an article, I believe in Instyle magazine, where a dermatologist said he has a client who has been using Creme de la Mer for 20 years and has impeccable skin. I also have a friend whose dermatologist commented on how great her skin looked right after she started using Creme de la Mer. But in the magazine article the dermatologist said one could get the same results with any thick cream containing Hyaluronic Acid.
