Skin Care Creams: How to Layer Your Creams

One of the most common questions I have heard in my years in the happinesslifetime.com skin care business. - how do I layer on my happinesslifetime.com eye cream, anti-aging and moisture creams. To answer this question, we must first look at the two types of skin. Why you wonder? Cosmetic products that are made for dry skin for example include ingredients that acts as barriers so the skin is not assaulted by the environment and therefore can heal itself without the onslaught. For this reason we must layer our products in order if we have dry skin. Here is what we mean:

Layering Cosmetic Products for the face - Dry Skin

1. Wash your face with a cleansing milk.

2. Apply your 1st treatment product - the most important treatment for you should go here - this could be your anti-aging product or if you feel that age spots are more important than your age spot product.

3. Apply your 2nd treatment product - this is your second most important treatment product

4. Apply your eye treatment - this can be applied at step 2 as this is the only cream that will be applied to this area.

5. Apply your moisturizer - for dry skin these products contain ingredients such as glycerin, urea or shea butter which act as barriers to protect the skin. They may not allow any other products to be absorbed by the skin so leave these last.

6. Apply sunscreen - this is always applied last most sunscreens today also contain sunblock ingredients and these need to be your first line of defense when the sun hits your skin.

Layering Cosmetic Products for the face - Oily skin

1. Wash your face with a gel cleanser

2. Apply your 1st treatment product - the most important treatment for you should go here - this could be your anti-aging product or if you feel that age spots are more important than your age spot product.

3. Apply your 2nd treatment product - this is your second most important treatment product.

4. Apply your eye treatment - this can be applied at step two as this is the only product that will be applied to this area.

5. Apply sunscreen - - this is always applied last most sunscreens today also contain sunblock ingredients and these need to be your first line of defense when the sun hits your skin.

If you have oily skin and require a hydrator apply this at any time. Because cosmetic products for oily skin do not include barrier ingredients the above steps can be completed in any order - of course after face washing and before applying sunscreen.

The best advice we can give you is to look for products that are multi-purpose so you don't have to worry about layering.
